We had the pleasure to present the concept for the project Meridian expedition to The scientific researchers conference of participating countries about The Agreement to Prevent Unregulated High Seas Fisheries in the Central Arctic Ocean (long name, I know) in Arkhangelsk (Northern Russia).
It was a great experience and many participants of the conference expressed their interest in the promotion of scientific reasearch, especiallty in the Arctic and Antarctic regions. All participating researchers were very supporting, although discussions progressed exceptionally well with representatives from Canada, China and Russia.
We've exhanged contact information and are looking forward to a fruitful cooperation. We were especially looking for nominal support and access to the polar scientific bases as well as transportation to and from the bases when the expedition reaches the Arcitc and Antarctic regions.
Participation in this prestigious conference is an indication that support for this project will be widespread and well-received by the scientific community as long as we are true to the heart of the mission.
In brief - the presentation went really well, the feedback was very positive and it can be called the official start of this endeavour.
